1861-S $20 Liberty. NGC graded AU-50. Should be resubmitted for a lower grade! Just too much friction and too many light edge bumps for us to agree with "AU-50". An Extremely Fine grade seems more appropriate and still a high-grade example of this popular issue, quite affordable in today's market.

1873-CC $20 Liberty. NGC graded MS-60. Closed 3, as always for Carson City issues, as the dies were prepared early in the year and sent West. Here is a lovely example of the date, boldly struck, glistening with mint luster and free from serious edge bumps and noticeable imperfections. Although the year 1873 represents the first year for which Carson City twenties can be reasonably found in EF grades, Aus are quite rare and full uncirculated specimens are seldom encountered. The Bass example was AU-55. Pop of 13 (with probably multiple submissions) with 1 in MS-61 and 1 in MS-62.
Estimated Value $22,000 - 25,000.
